PROGRAM
Son Cubano Subterráneo draws their inspiration from Cuba’s rich musical heritage, adding their own style and signature sound. This six-piece ensemble has been entertaining dancers and
listeners throughout the Washington DC metro area since 2024, performing Cuban “Son,” the musical style at the core of Latin salsa dance music.
Son Cubano's sound includes authentic Cuban instruments and a deep repertoire of styles, tempos and songs from all the greats including Buena Vista Social Club, Arsenio Rodriguez, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Oscar D’Leon, and many others, with some surprises thrown in.
Bandleader and Cuban tres player Josh Schneck formed the band in 2024. He’s joined by singer Steven Falcon, Fran Vielma on congas, Eduardo Padua on bongos and hand percussion, Matvei Sigalov on guitar and violin, and the amazing Gabriel Vivas on upright bass.
