Join us for this intimate event at the Embassy of Bulgaria featuring violinist Julia Angelov accompanied by pianist Rohan de Silva. 


Ms. Angelov has appeared with numerous American orchestras including the National Philharmonic at Strathmore, the U.S. Army Orchestra, the Arlington Philharmonic, along with orchestras throughout Russia and Europe. She has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Merkin Concert Halls in New York, the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, and the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. 


Angelov has been awarded with the Milka Violin Prize at the Pablo Casals Festival, an Amadeus Concerts Emerging Artists award, and honored by the National Society of Arts and Letters. Competitions won include the Music Teachers National Association’s (MTNA) National Strings Competition. In the spring of 2022, she had a recital debut at the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall presented by Bulgarian Concert Evenings in New York and sponsored by the St. Cyril and St. Methodius International Foundation.


She will be joined by Mr. de Silva, a highly sought after collaborative pianist and chamber musician.  A Steinway Artist, Rohan De Silva's partnerships with violin virtuosos Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman, Cho-Liang Lin, Midori, Joshua Bell, Benny Kim, Kyoko Takezawa, Vadim Repin, Gil Shaham, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Julian Rachlin, James Ehnes and Rodney Friend have led to highly acclaimed performances at recital venues all over the world.  With these and other artists he has performed on the stages of Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall and Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, Philadelphia Academy of Music, Ambassador Theater in Los Angeles, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall in London, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, La Scala in Milan and in Tel-Aviv, Israel.  Mr. De Silva’s festival appearances include Aspen, Ravinia, Interlochen, Seattle Chamber Music, Manchester, Schleswig-Holstein, Pacific Music Festival and the Wellington Arts Festival in New Zealand.  He has performed chamber music in Beijing with the American String Quartet and has appeared in recital worldwide with Itzhak Perlman.
